It’s video that’s tough to watch on TV, so just imagine what it was like in the driver’s seat.
Andrea Espino was behind the wheel of the white car when Frank “Trey” Shephard plowed into her as he tried to evade Houston police Wednesday.
“I remember seeing the car come my way,” Espino said. “It’s so unreal, hard to believe it was me. Next thing I know I’m in the back of the ambulance and someone’s putting IV in me.”
Her mom, Angie, rushed to be by her side.
“I kissed her and she said, ‘Mom, no, it hurts,'” Angie said.
On Thursday, Espino was back on the couch with her parents with just a few bumps and scratches. The man who hit her was fatally shot by police.
“It’s unfortunate that a life was lost,” said Espino. “It could have been way worse.”
Espino’s family worries the chase lasted too long.
